All of our hikes are rated on a scale of difficulty from A to D (see the table below). The hike leader has often done the hike before and is knowledgeable about the distance and elevation change. Please be responsible for your own well being. Don’t over-exert yourself; but one can often go a little further with motivation from a group – that’s how you improve! Look for these ratings in the schedule:

A

DIFFICULT. Over 16 miles or over 3000-ft elevation change.

B

MODERATE. 8 to 16 miles and 1500 to 3000-ft elevation change.

C

BEGINNER. 3 to 8 miles and 500 to 1500-ft elevation change.

D

EASY. Under 3 miles and less than 500-ft elevation change.
